The sectionalized entrance foyer ends in a magnificent staircase opening into the lobby of the main floor on the mezzanine, which features carefully restored and reconstructed original elements. The listed historic property has been awarded the European Commission's "Green Building" certificate.
A brief history: Palais Weihburggasse was the subject of Austria's first ever case of restitution in kind, which was effected in 2003. The commission for the renovation of the building was issued together with the stipulation that the entire history of the property be researched and documented.
